I forgot to post yesterday, OOPS! For dinner last night I made Goulash. My Mama used to make it all the time and I didn't have a recipe so I Googled it and found one that had the ingredients that I thought Mama used in hers. It turned out really good and tasted just like Mama's! :)

I browned my hamburger with two chopped onions, then I drained the grease and added two cans crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt and pepper. I then dumped it all into my dutch oven and added some water (I didn't measure the water). While everything was simmering in the dutch oven I cooked my macaroni noodles. After the noodles were done I drained the water and then added the noodles to the hamburger mixture and simmered it for a little while. I served crackers with it and my family loved it. It was cold here yesterday and it really hit the spot!

I had to run out to the grocery store for some milk and bread today and my son Eric had gotten off work early so I was able to go without taking Wesley. I picked up Hot Pockets to have for dinner tonight. I normally don't buy them but I had a coupon and they were on sale. My boys are going to love dinner tonight because they love Hot Pockets and rarely get them.

While I was in the check out line today at the grocery store the lady in front of me didn't have a gas card. That grocery store has a gas card and the more items you buy of certain items the more discount you get, she got .26 cents off on her gas card, but for some reason she handed it back to the cashier and said "I don't use this, here you keep it" (I still cant figure out why she took the time to fill out the paper work for the card, if she was just going to give it back to the cashier). The cashier told her that they were not allowed to do that, the lady would not take the card back so the cashier looked at me and said, "Here do you want this card, she just got .26 cents on it, I'm not allowed to take it". I said, sure and took the card. Then after she finished ringing me up she swiped the card again and I ended it getting .49 cents total on my gas card today! Now the next time I get gas I'll get .49 cents off my next gas purchase. :)

I love goulosh. I notice a lot of your meals are similar to mine. I make goulosh at least once a month. It is even better as leftovers. YUM!

I love goulosh, I like to put canned corn in mine. I really need to start collecting coupons, you are always getting good deals. Did you watch Oprah a few weeks ago with the lady that brought her $170 weekly grocery bill down to $37 by using coupons. I think her web site was called

Goulash....yumm. Only problem for me is that whenever I make pasta I seem to forget that I'm not cooking for an army anymore and I make too much and it never all gets eaten. I need to learn to cook in smaller batches, that's for sure.

Neat idea for the store to give you gas cards. We don't have that here.

I wish we had that type of gas program here,ANYthing to offset the cost...but guess my commute is so short it really doesn't matter ;o)
