Saturday And Soups On

I'm finally getting to use my new cast iron dutch oven! I'm making some chicken veggie soup. I use my aunt Lucille's recipe. She made THE best chicken veggie soup EVER! I took two chicken bouillon cubes and dissolved then in two cups of water, then I added chicken breast, frozen butter beans, a tiny dash of sugar, salt and pepper, bring to a boil, then I turn the heat down and let that all simmer. I will add can tomatoes, green beans, corn, potatoes and carrots in a little bit. I had to use can carrots because the carrots in the produce section we so high I refused to buy them. I normally use fresh carrots in my soup. Here are some pics I've been taking, will take more when I'm done with it.

Thank you Shirla!! I wish I lived closer too:) We could go out to eat all the time:) Your cast iron pot is pretty mine is just regular cast iron. The soup looks simple and yummy. I just had some leftover ham and beans and a carebear cupcake. Its starting to rain and the house is dark, perfect for a nap.

I never heard of it either, my daughter had it when she stayed the night at the church a few weeks ago and asked the teacher for the recipe. Her teacher thought it was cute when Avery said "yum that was good can I have the recipe" I will let you know how it turns out. It calls for thighs and I like dark meat but I dont like picking through it

I'm glad I checked on your blog today to see the finished results. That soup looks so good I can almost taste it and it looks very healthy as well.
